90s Bedroom Decor
As adults, we favour the more mature and chic look for our boudoirs.
With wall art, inspirational quotes and cushions that totally aren't from Primark (but secretly are), our rooms seem a little bit bland now compared to the extravagant eyesores that were our childhood bedrooms.
90s kids, this one is for you.
If this list doesn't have you aching to do a radical makeover to create a more retro bedroom, then there is something most definitely amiss.
Here we are the 22 things every 90s bedroom needed to have. How many did you own?
Beaded curtains
Practical? Not at all. But colourful and total proof of how cool you were. Not so great when they got tangled but worth it.
Lava lamp
You could watch this bad boy for hours.
Spinning desk chair
It was meant for you to be comfortable while doing homework but….wheeeeeeeeeee!
Scented candles
You didn't know what a loganberry was but your room smelled of it.

Collectibles
Your room was laden with Pogs or Pokemon cards. The more you had, the bigger your street cred. On quieter days, you might even categorise your Pokemon cards and display them in a folder. That is how cool you were.
Furby
A toy that talked back! Hours of cute fun and way less irritating than modern day backchat tools like Siri.
A TV/VHS combo
OMG, they're not separate? Technology, man.
Inflatable bags
Squishy squishy. They may not have had much of a holding capacity but their squeezable nature more than made up for it.
Inflatable settee
For when the bags weren't enough inflated plastic in your life.
Beanie Babies
All sitting upright with their labels intact cos, you know, they'd be worth millions someday.
A PlayStation
Back when we didn't have to clarify that it was a PSOne. OMG how realistic were the Tomb Raider and Crash Bandicoot graphics, we would exclaim.

Fibre optic lamp
With three different colour settings, obviously. Naturally, all our parents could do was complain about the dust they would gather but we thought they were the business.
A spinning disco ball
Now we could have a school disco in our very own room! Pass the Panda Pops and whack on the Spice Girls.
A feather boa
Draped around the headboard of your bed if you were super stylish.
Friends VHS Collection
Stacked neatly in order. Oh the pride you had that you owned all of them. Nobody had to know that some of the boxes were empty.
A furry cube
Just because! It's a cube shaped seat covered in fur. Who wouldn't want one of these?
A lock
Oh the power of locking one's bedroom door. That air of mystery we exuded felt great, right? Even though we had nothing particularly interesting to hide.
A see through phone
OMFG so that's what's inside a house phone!
A beanbag seat
Sinking into one of these beasts with a Harry Potter book or with your walkman was the best way to spend a night. It even took the sting out of homework.
Heart throb posters
Boyzone, A1, Robbie Williams: they all had their place on your wall. But which of them did you kiss goodnight?
Glow in the dark stars
Shining from your ceiling, these were the ultimate reason to get excited for bed time.
Cushions shaped like lips
The ultimate proclamation of how fashionable and out there you were. If you were really garish, you would have a seat shaped like lips.
